LCCI heads to MIPIM to talk London 2012, Infrastructure and Inward Investment

The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is to take a delegation to MIPIM, the property industry's largest market event, for the first time this year.

The delegation will be led by the Chairman of the LCCI's Property and Construction Group, Tony Pidgley, CBE, Chairman of the Berkeley Group, and will focus on how the capital can build the infrastructure it badly needs, as well as how to attract more inward investment to London.

Tony Pidgley said: "London is one of the world's great cities. We had an amazing year in 2012.  Now we need to take that confidence and optimism and use it to champion our businesses and the opportunities for people to come and invest here."

The LCCI have worked with a number of sponsors in order to put on a full programme of activity at MIPIM which includes a stand in the London Pavilion.

Mark Collins, Chairman of Residential at CBRE, said:

"With around 20,000 property professionals expected to descend on Cannes this March, MIPIM is undoubtedly the most important event in the property industry and remains at the forefront of the global property market.

"MIPIM provides a unique, concentrated environment to network, strengthen existing relationships and develop new ones. I have attended MIPIM for a number of years and believe it is a must for any serious property professional who wants to build industry knowledge and explore new business opportunities.

"Residential property will feature more prominently at MIPIM this year than ever before, as increasing numbers of investors are noticing how lucrative it can be as an asset class during the current economic climate. As an industry leader in prime London residential property, CBRE will lead discussions at MIPIM on how investors can access this market and where current and future hotspots lie."

Sharon Marsh, CH2M HILL's Global Business Development Director said: "We are proud to be supporting the LCCI's delegation to this year's MIPIM. This will be our first year at the event and first opportunity to showcase CH2M HILL's new Urban Programmes offering - leveraging our company's global track record in urban infrastructure and sustainable sport developments, in the delivery of innovative, practical, sustainable urban solutions for new cities and revitalised cities that focus on Building a Better World.

"The presence of Halcrow's Building Engineering service Group alongside CH2M HILL's Urban Programmes Group as a collective presence at this year's MIPIM, will enable us to showcase our full urban service offering, from feasibility studies, master-planning and structural engineering, through to design, programme management and city operations."
