Intermediate Rules of Origin

The understanding and application of rules of origin remains a challenge for many businesses, and yet the consequences of non-compliance can be high. Even if you have mastered the basics, the finer detail of a trade agreement is often missed. Furthermore, the increase in regional trade agreements brings another dimension with the concept of regional value calculations.

This intermediate level course builds on a basic understanding of rules of origin (delegates should ideally have completed the full day training on this topic), and explores regional value content and cumulation in greater detail. We also look at the challenges of origin in the light of increased trade measures and how to avoid circumvention by considering strategic business solutions. This is an interactive, half day session, with lots of examples and worked exercises to illustrate the principles (bring a calculator so that you can join in).
