LCCI at MIPIM 2017
The 2017 event was held in Cannes, France, on 14-17 March. LCCI President, Tony Pidgley CBE, Chairman of Berkeley Group Plc, lead our MIPIM 2017 delegation. Colin Stanbridge, LCCI Chief Executive, and Mark Collins, Chairman UK Residential, CBRE and LCCI Property and Construction Group Chairman, led the capital's contingent to discuss and debate key topics including planning, development and transport needs as London transitions to megacity status.
Guest speakers at LCCI events included London Minister Gavin Barwell MP, Peter Murray, Charmain of NLA; and Jules Pipe, Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills.
With a prominent LCCI stand in the London Pavilion, our key aim was to raise our profile and that of our sponsors - and to provide an opportunity for our sponsors to connect with potential customers and partners.
London, the Megacity
At the 2017 event, LCCI emphasised the need for more investment in infrastructure to ensure that capital can continue to be internationally competitive.
The Chamber also promoted its research that quantifies London business' attitudes towards housing, transport and infrastructure and the construction skills gap.
Colin Stanbridge, Chief Executive, LCCI said: "MIPIM is an unparalleled opportunity to show the world of property and construction what London has to offer, as well as to learn about what is emerging in the sector, both in the UK and worldwide.
"We are focusing on how London can build more homes to rent, as well as to own, bridging the skills gap, delivering devolution and giving London the infrastructure it needs with an ever-growing population".
