Helping Sadiq to be a Mayor for Business

London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) today published 'Business Agenda 2020' - to seek to influence the four-year period of the new mayoralty around 20 steps that would make London an even better place to do business

The Agenda covers five broad public policy areas:

- fix the housing crisis
- close the skills gap
- keep transport moving
- boost digital capability
- secure more power to grow

LCCI has welcomed some early positive moves by the new mayor, including the announcement of the Night Tube commencement (step 13), the withdrawal of the GLA's objection to expansion at London City Airport (step 14) and the mayor's commitment to protect office space from residential conversion (step 12).

London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive, Colin Stanbridge said: "The four-year period of the new mayoralty must see important decisions taken around housing, transport and infrastructure to prepare for the London population of 2020 and beyond. We believe that by addressing these 20 steps the new Mayor and the London Assembly can make a good start towards ensuring that London remains an attractive, productive and competitive global city."
