Mayor leading on crime - but more action needed

In response to the publication of the Mayor of London's Business Crime Strategy, Colin Stanbridge, Chief Executive of London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) said: "London should be the safest place in the world to do business and we welcome the Mayor of London's pledge to enhance the capital's reputation.

"Cyber-crime is an ever-growing threat to business growth. Attacks online are costing companies nationwide around £21 billion a year, making them the greatest victims of cyber-crime.

"The Metropolitan Police and government authorities must make it easier for resource-stretched firms in London to report incidences of online crime and respond in a timely fashion.  Firms must be confident that the information they provide to help in the fight against cyber-crime will be used to catch the perpetrators."
