Climate Change Hub

The UK economy is legally bound to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and reduce carbon emissions by 60% by 2035 from today’s levels. The Mayor of London has also set ambitious aims for London to be a zero-carbon city by 2030.

This means businesses and industry will have to reduce their carbon emissions accordingly.

Our Climate Change Hub shares useful resources and tools to help your business on the road to net zero.

What LCCI is doing

We are launching an initiative focused on London, a Centre of Excellence for Environment, Sustainability and Green Growth (Race to Zero).
A focussed programme of activities will be led by Members, offering opportunities to network, collaborate and share good practice to support London’s development as a centre of excellence for environment, sustainability and green growth through both a multi sector and sector specific approach. LCCI Member Mark Jenkinson, Director, Crystal Associates will be working with us to lead on this initiative.

London Focused Announcements

The Greater London Authority periodically has funding for projects, including: Community grants and funding to support communities and civil society organisations, Green and Resilient Spaces Fund - funding for large-scale, innovative enhancements to green and blue spaces and the wider public realm and Challenge London – an initiative to work with bright and creative innovators to solve the challenges facing London and Londoners.

Free net zero support for SMEs

Net zero can feel overwhelming for small and medium sized businesses (SMEs). LCCI Member Heart of the City knows that from its 21 years of working with SMEs. But they also know that SMEs can do great things and have a real impact!  So they’ve created a free course: climate for SMEs: 4 steps to action. The course will get you ready to be net zero in four modules, with workshops and a toolkit by sustainability experts teaching you everything you need to know. You’ll finish the course with a net zero action plan and you’ll make a commitment to achieve net zero by 2040. The course launches in January 2022 and you can apply now.
