LCCI has a history of supporting skills development for London’s businesses through advocacy, business support schemes and other initiatives. Our Skills Group brings together industry, education and training to champion the needs of London businesses.

The group works to preserve London’s role as a city for entrepreneurs, responds to the changing nature of work, and encourages collaboration across London’s business community. The Committee aims is to drive transformation, leverage opportunities for new ways of working, and strives to create an environment for innovative businesses to share their expertise for cross-sector learning.

National Apprenticeships Week (NAW) 2026

NAW showcases how apprenticeships and skills open doors to rewarding careers, help businesses build future‑ready workforces and support economic growth by tackling priority skills gaps. We were delighted to attend several events throughout the week hosted by LCCI Patron Members to celebrate apprenticeships and champion the talented workforce London has to offer. Highlights includes HRUC Preparing for Future Careers through Apprenticeships and Higher Education workshop, Capital City College's Women in STEM: Engineering and Rail apprenticeships event and Capital City College's NAW Employer Breakfast.

Capital City College Group

Capital City College Group

Capital City College Group (CCCG) is London’s largest further education and training provider, with around 35,000 students and an annual income of £120m. The Group comprises three further education colleges: City and Islington College, The College of Haringey, Enfield and North East London, and Westminster Kingsway College, as well as a specialist training arm, Capital City College Training (CCCT), and joint ventures 01 Founders and Visionnaires, focused on coding and entrepreneurship respectively. CCCG has 10 college sites across central and north London for 16-18 year-olds, adult learners, apprentices and businesses. It has nationally-recognised specialisms in areas such as construction, digital technology, healthcare, hospitality, rail engineering and science.
