Understanding Commodity Codes

Date

Time

9.30am - 12.30pm

Overview

An introduction course providing candidates with fundamental skills and knowledge to prepare and process a system of classifying their parts for both import and export. It is fully supported with user friendly and up-to-date notes (including practical experience on classifying products using the UK Global Tariff) to ensure the skills learned can be used effectively back in the workplace.

Candidates will, after attending this course, be aware of what commodity codes are and what they are used for. They will have a basic understanding of the process of how to classify goods and would have successfully classified a range of goods to gain experience in using the UK Global Tariff and where to go for further advice.

This course can also count as a credit towards the British Chamber of Commerce Foundation Award in International Trade. Candidates attending six or more courses and obtaining six or more credits receive the Award.

This training is delivered in collaboration with LCCI’s Trusted Trainers International Trade Matters as part of the Nationally Accredited Chamber Network.

Winning Sales and US Entry Strategies

Date

Time

2.30pm - 4.00pm

Overview

Tasks like setting up your company in Delaware are relatively straightforward. No one’s rejecting you when you file paperwork. But going out to a trade show, meeting prospects, and trying to make a sale—that’s tough. Rejection is part of sales, and it’s much harder than administrative tasks. The hard part is turning all the framework you’ve built into actual revenue. It’s easy relatively to buy services like accounting or office space.
