Understanding Commodity Codes

Overview

An introduction course providing candidates with fundamental skills and knowledge to prepare and process a system of classifying their parts for both import and export. It is fully supported with user friendly and up-to-date notes (including practical experience on classifying products using the UK Global Tariff) to ensure the skills learned can be used effectively back in the workplace.

This training is delivered in collaboration with LCCI’s Trusted Trainers International Trade Matters as part of the Nationally Accredited Chamber Network.

Digital Carnet Drop-In Clinic

Overview

The UK will turn the switch on for digital Carnets on 1 June 2026. All Carnet users travelling to and from the UK, as well as the EU, Norway and Switzerland will need to have digital Carnet issued to visit this countries, and have the paper Carnet issued too if they are travelling to any other destinations.

Join us on Friday 10 April for this free ATA Carnet drop-in clinic and learn with real life scenarios how to use your eATA Carnets confidently and compliantly. These sessions offer a practical walk-through of both paper and digital Carnets, with LCCI experts simulating Foreign Customs checks so you can see how each stage works in practice.

Digital ATA Carnets – Get ready for the 2026 eATA transition

2026 is the year when ATA Carnets will join the digital era, going from their paper versions to the new eATA digital platform. 

The eATA Carnet project aims to digitalise ATA Carnets and their lifecycle management process, from issuance and declarations to transactions and claims.

The eATA global transition will kick-off on 1 June 2026 starting with the EU, Norway, Switzerland and the UK. 

This session is helpful for individuals and organisations who are already applying for and or using ATA Carnets to export their goods temporarily out of the UK.

The course will cover import documentation and procedures, commercial considerations, the importance of your purchase order, calculating VAT and duty, and how to reduce import customs clearance delays.
