Despite ongoing challenges for UK businesses, including geopolitical trade tensions and regulatory changes, export activity remains strong. According to the latest ONS data (to September 2025), UK exports grew by 5.3% compared to the previous year.
As London’s leading business hub, LCCI is committed to working with you to maintain this momentum and drive further growth in 2026.

The team also recently Passed its UK Certificate of Origin Audit by the British Chamber of Commerce with emphasis on strong compliance and improved operational procedures and processes.

Temporary Exports – ATA Carnets

ATA Carnet issuance across the UK network increased by 0.6% compared to 2024. With this rise, we’ve seen a huge 12% increase in foreign customs claims. To support our customers, we’ve expanded our team and strengthened processes to help reduce the risk of claims from Foreign Customs becoming payable.

Compliance requirements continue to evolve. LCCI retained its Chamber Customs accreditation with another 100% Compliance score in our most recent audit.

Looking ahead, 2026 will bring significant changes for traders, including ICS2, ELO, and potential UK developments around CBAM. Our team is monitoring these closely to keep you informed and compliant in your international trade ventures.
