Championing Local Business: LCCI Celebrates Small Business Saturday Across North London
Saturday 6 December 2025

LCCI proudly joined the nationwide celebration of Small Business Saturday with two visits to independent businesses in North London, reaffirming our commitment to supporting the capital’s vibrant SME community.
On Saturday 29 November, LCCI Chief Executive Karim Fatehi OBE visited small businesses in Crouch End alongside Catherine West MP, Lester Buxton, Councillor for Haringey Council, and Despina Johnson, CEO of the North London Chamber of Commerce and Enterprise. The group met local businesses, including Sable d’Or café, Haelan Centre, Broadway Fashions Ltd, The House of Books, Dunns Bakery, and The Source Bulk Foods, listening to their experiences and the challenges they face in today’s economic climate.

The following weekend, on Saturday 6 December, Karim joined Bambos Charalambous MP, Angela Evangelou of the Green Lanes Business Association, and Despina Johnson for a second visit, this time in Palmers Green, Enfield. They met independent businesses such as Peter Michael Estates, Philanthropy, Scrivens Opticians, and Teas & C’s, hearing first-hand how these enterprises contribute to their communities and the pressures they encounter.

Small businesses are the backbone of London’s economy, accounting for nearly half of total employment in UK businesses and close to one million firms across the capital. They bring character to our neighbourhoods, drive innovation, and create jobs. As we approach the festive season, it is more important than ever to champion and support them.
LCCI is proud to stand with small and local businesses as part of Small Business Saturday, celebrating the resilience, creativity, and dedication that define our SME community.
