LCCI reacts to the end of the ULEZ scrappage scheme

Karim Fatehi MBE, Chief Executive of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) said:

"The end of the ULEZ scrappage scheme marks a significant milestone for London. Small businesses have been able to buy or retrofit their vehicles thanks to this scheme which was essential during the cost of living crisis. The Mayor of London acted on our recommendation for this scheme to be put in place which led to firms across outer London remaining profitable.

"With over 96% of vehicles on London's roads now meeting emissions standards, the city is moving forward towards a cleaner and greener future. This is a major victory for both air quality and the local economy. In the coming months, we will closely monitor any developments across the city and actively engage with our members to address any challenges they may face. By working together, we can build on this progress and work towards an even more vibrant and sustainable London for everyone."
