Effective Dispute Resolution for Businesses: Arbitration, Mediation and LCAM Support

Date

Time

10.00am - 11.00am

Overview

Disputes are an inevitable feature of international trade. Even well‑drafted commercial contracts can break down, leaving businesses needing to enforce their rights against trading partners.

Putting an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanism in place is much like taking out an insurance policy: you hope you never need it, but when issues arise, it can save your business considerable time, cost, and disruption in the long run.

The good news is, unlike an insurance policy, parties can simply decide to include a dispute resolution clause in their contracts, ready to be relied upon if something goes wrong.

The London Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation (LCAM) is the LCCI’s dedicated dispute resolution body, supporting businesses of all sizes with effective and flexible ADR solutions.

In this webinar, we will cover:

  • Why alternative dispute resolution matters for businesses;

  • What arbitration and mediation are, and how they work; and

  • How to draft an effective dispute resolution clause in a commercial contract.
