City of London Chamber partners with City of London Corporation to support SMEs

The City of London Chamber will work with the City of London Corporation to support SMEs in the Square Mile following the publication of the SME Strategy by the Corporation.

The City of London Corporation launched its inaugural Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Strategy aimed at boosting the Square Mile’s position as the leading UK destination for starting and expanding businesses.

Led by Policy Chairman Chris Hayward and supported by Lead Member for SMEs, Paul Singh, the SME Strategy aims to enhance visibility and support for small businesses while aligning with the City's broader economic ambitions.

The strategy emphasises inclusivity and collaboration with various business support networks and organisations. Key initiatives include facilitating access to finance, data, space, expertise, and networks for SMEs.

Establishing a robust support and mentoring network within the Square Mile favouring the growth of SMEs is essential to achieve the collective ambition of establishing a Destination City.

The City of London Chamber’s participation at the strategy launch event underscores its strong commitment to fostering SME growth and support within the City. The City of London Chamber is pleased to have been included as some of the main organisations the Corporation wants to collaborate with to help SMEs thrive in the City.

Alderman Prem Goyal OBE, Committee Chair of the City of London Chamber of Commerce, said

“The City of London Chamber and the City of London Corporation have been tirelessly cooperating to help SMEs grow in London. The SME Strategy is a testament to this joint effort and the good results it has brought forward so far. We are excited to continue our work with the Corporation to create an ever-improving habitat within the Square Mile for SMEs to thrive and to turn the Destination City vision into a reality.”
