Boris must back EU reform

Commenting on Boris Johnson's EU speech, Colin Stanbridge, Chief Executive of London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) said: "London firms are overwhelmingly of the view that remaining in the EU, albeit with specific powers returned to Westminster, would have a positive impact on economic and business growth.

"There is a solid case for reform and the Mayor should give his full-throated support to ongoing efforts to renegotiate a better deal for London and the UK.

"The challenge is to get the EU to realise the full potential of the single market and extend it more widely to other sectors like services, telecommunications and transport. A recalibrated EU, with a laser focus on boosting trade, enterprise and competition would boost economic and business growth, and increase employment."
