LCCI call for business travel exemption list expansion

Tuesday 29 June 2021

Responding to today's government announcement regarding travel exemptions, LCCI call for further expansion of the list.

Richard Burge, Chief Executive of London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said: “A limited number of jobs currently qualify for the travel exemptions list. The government has extended that list today in the form of multinational or international executives, but that step only serves a select few, whilst many smaller businesses that rely on international travel to undertake project work and conduct key meetings for their growth and cashflow remain largely grounded.

“The exemptions list should be expanded, using the current system in place, but to include all businesses that need to undertake business travel.”
