LCCI's open letter to The Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP and The Rt Hon Liz Truss MP

The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry has written an open letter to The Rt Hon Rishi Sunak MP and The Rt Hon Liz Truss MP.

In a letter to the two candidates for the Conservative leadership election, Richard Burge, CEO of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, urges Sunak and Truss to consider and address key areas which impact on the wealth creators in the Capital. These include:

  • The continuation of the Government’s Levelling Up agenda and the importance in recognising London’s role in economic growth for the country
  • The cost of doing business crisis for SMEs and the suggestion of a ‘help for Business’ campaign modelled on the newly launched ‘Help for Households’ campaign
  • A redesign of the current immigration system that will help businesses grow, not stifle them
  • Improvement in the Government’s skills priorities to address the huge skills gap in our capital.
