LCCI welcome the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the UK, US, and Australia

Thursday 12 September 2024

Karim Fatehi MBE, Chief Executive of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) said:

"We welcome the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the UK, US, and Australia, a significant milestone in strengthening global supply chains. The formation of the Supply Chain Resilience Cooperation Group will be instrumental in identifying and mitigating risks and disruptions, beginning with the telecommunications sector—a critical component of today’s interconnected and digital economies.

"This initiative is timely and vital for supporting businesses and ensuring supply chains remain stable and secure. Data sharing and coordinated actions between the three countries will help build resilience and safeguard the infrastructure that underpins economic growth.

"While LCCI welcomes this positive announcement, challenges remain for businesses here in London. It is essential that we monitor the impact of this agreement and ensure that the benefits are felt across all sectors in the capital. Our members hope that through further collaboration and investment, we can strengthen our economy and provide the stability needed for businesses in London and across the UK to thrive.”
