London Chamber Reinforces Message of International Business Cooperation

Thursday 22 June 2023, Geneva

This week, a delegation from the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) joined hundreds of international chambers in attending the International Chambers of Commerce (ICC) World Chambers Congress conference in Geneva, to reinforce the importance of international collaboration in achieving shared prosperity. The theme of the conference was ‘Achieving peace and prosperity through multilateralism’.

LCCI’s engagement focused on promoting stronger ties between London and other global cities to champion the rule of law, global trade and enterprise, and the promotion of London as a world leading hub for businesses. LCCI’s Chief Executive Richard Burge spoke on day one of the conference at a session on ‘Partnerships for prosperity’, making clear the role that the international chambers network can play in supporting global trade and reinforcing the message of international trade as a tool to engender growth and peace.

Through its attendance at international meetings such as the World Chambers Congress, LCCI is helping its members and London businesses internationalise. LCCI’s export documentation services, expert advice for London businesses on expanding overseas and ability to facilitate access to resolution and mediation services through the London Chamber of Arbitration and Mediation (LCAM) are enabling thousands of London businesses to expand their operations beyond the UK. LCCI also offers international businesses the opportunity to engage with businesses in London through LCCI’s bespoke international membership category, giving overseas firms access to LCCI’s network and events programme.

LCCI is proud to be an active member of the International Chambers of Commerce and will continue to engage with fellow Global chambers in creating mutually beneficial relationships for its 5,000-strong member base and businesses wishing to import from and export to the UK.

London Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive Officer Richard Burge, said:

“It was fantastic to connect with fellow chambers of commerce in Geneva this week at the World Chambers Congress and to reinforce the message that multilateral cooperation is the key to global peace and prosperity. The International Chambers of Commerce network provides the foundation for London’s business community to connect with businesses overseas, helping LCCI’s membership find like-minded businesses abroad which they can work with to continue London’s growth.”
