Our role is to explore and highlight issues that could potentially hinder the continued economic growth, success and prosperity of our great city. We aim to create an environment that aids and supports our members’ success and growth.
For more than 140 years, LCCI has been actively lobbying for London. For instance, we supported establishing:
- Heathrow and Gatwick airports
- Canary Wharf’s Docklands Light Railway (DLR)
- Crossrail
- London City Airport
We are also a vocal campaigner, advancing the case for matters such as Crossrail 2, the new Thames river crossings, and more devolution for London.
This approach – seeking to positively influence and shape policy proposals, legislation and regulation relevant to London businesses – cements LCCI as a recognised authority for government, City Hall and public policy players.
LCCI policy activities and representatives frequently feature in the media, on TV, online and in newspapers, to highlight the interests of London businesses. An overview of recent press releases can be found here.
