Fabric of Freedom Fashion Show

In a collaborative effort to support Ukrainian refugee fashion designers in London, the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) is joining forces with the London Metropolitan University, UA in UK Community, Creative Headshots, and curators Olenka Martynyuk and Nataliia Bartkiv to organise an inaugural fashion show featuring designers Galushko, Mandyradzhy, Selera, AG Studio.

The primary aim of this initiative is to provide a platform for these talented designers to showcase their creations, connect with potential buyers and investors, and cultivate a supportive community conducive to their business growth. 

This event not only showcases the remarkable creative expertise of Ukrainian designers but also highlights the profound impact of the ongoing Ukrainian conflict. It adds an international and humanitarian dimension that LCCI has been actively advocating for months, emphasising the critical need for solidarity and support.

Meet the designers

GALUSHKO 

Founded in 2021 by Anastasia Galushko, a UK-based Ukrainian fashion designer, the brand draws inspiration from history while infusing vintage materials like buttons and hand embroidery into modern designs. Anastasia's journey led her to London before the invasion, where she pursued an Erasmus program, setting the stage for her future endeavors. Despite the upheavals, Anastasia's commitment to her craft remains steadfast, with a team of three dedicated individuals working alongside her. Anastasia's design philosophy embraces inclusiveness, naturalness, and a touch of tradition, reflecting a revival of high fashion. Her collections serve as a testament to the diversity of boundaries, marrying the old and the new for unique. Despite being made in the UK, Anastasia ensures that accessories are crafted in Ukraine, maintaining a connection to her roots and supporting local artisans.

Recognised for her talent and dedication, Anastasia received an MA scholarship grant for 2022 from the British Fashion Council (BFC), further cementing her place in the industry. Her participation in Ukrainian Fashion Week in 2021 showcased her innovative approach to design, capturing the essence of a rich and diverse fashion narrative. Through intricate forms, recycled materials, and thoughtful draping, Anastasia Galushko continues to push the boundaries of fashion, inspiring others with her creativity and vision.

MANDYRADZHY

Founded in 2023 by Ilona Mandyrandzy, Mandyradzhy is a youthful Ukrainian brand based in London, where Ilona brings her unique vision to life. Despite starting as a one-person team, Mandyradzhy quickly gained recognition for its minimalist design with deconstruction elements. Ilona, infuses her creations with clean lines, unique techniques, and meticulous attention to detail.

Honored as a BFC Scholar in 2022, Ilona's journey in fashion has been marked by recognition and support. The BFC sponsored her first collection, highlighting her potential and innovative approach to design. Mandyradzhy's aesthetic transcends traditional minimalism, incorporating deconstruction and futuristic influences to bring innovation and unexpectedness to each creation. Through her work, Ilona aims to spark meaningful conversations, challenge societal norms, and harness fashion's power for positive change.

SELERA

Selera, founded in 2020 by Valeriya Samchuk, stands as a beacon of conscious consumerism, redefining everyday wear with a timeless appeal. While rooted in Aberdeen and Kyiv, Ukraine, the brand's influence extends far beyond borders. With a team of ten and collections crafted entirely in Ukraine, Selera's commitment to quality and sustainability is unwavering.

Known for oversized shirts, blazers, and cut-out dresses, Selera prioritizes high-quality natural fabrics such as nettle and hemp fibers, while embracing deadstock materials for limited edition capsules. Each garment is not merely a piece of clothing but a statement of environmental consciousness. The brand's dedication to sustainability is evident in its eco-friendly practices, from utilising bio-degradable paper for clothing tags to embedding them with flower seeds, promoting beauty and environmental awareness with every purchase. Selera's collections are released in the form of limited capsules, each bearing a special serial number, underscoring the brand's commitment to exclusivity and sustainability in equal measure.

AG STUDIO

Founded in 2019 by Anna Gorokhova, AG Studio, based in London but originally from Ukraine, embodies a fusion of elegance and practicality. The two-people team always prioritises quality craftsmanship, ensuring that each piece is meticulously designed and proudly made in Ukraine.

From seaside lounging to chic restaurant dining, AG Studio’s attire seamlessly suits any occasion. The brand's innovative fashion ethos focuses on both functionality and aesthetics, reflecting Anna's commitment to creating clothing that empowers women to express their individuality comfortably. With a diverse colour palette, AG Studio offers a spectrum of options for every taste. AG Studio’s aim is to deliver timeless pieces that stand the test of time.
