Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are at the core of the UK’s economic growth. In London alone, SMEs represent over 99% of the business community; their resilience is a constant force pushing the UK’s capital city to thrive.
The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), as the UK capital city’s biggest independent representative organisation for SMEs, intrinsically understand the contribution they bring to London, making it the best city in the world to do business. For this reason and in recognition to the resilience of London’s small business community in the face of economic and operational challenges in recent years, and to celebrate their success, talent, and dedication, LCCI launched the SME London Business Awards.
The inaugural LCCI SME Business Awards took place on Thursday 8 February 2024, in a night of pride and celebration, where over 300 guests enjoyed the awards ceremony. The awards are a testament to the hard work, motivation, and innovation drive that the winners display on their day-to-day business endeavours.
The awards showcased the success, innovation, talent, and dedication to be found amongst small businesses across the capital. Gold, Silver, and Bronze Winners were announced across 21 categories, ranging from Best New Business and International Business of the Year to Businesswomen of the Year and Best Enterprising Business.

The International Business of the Year award celebrates the company that has made the most impressive impact in an international market. From entering a new market or achievement of growth by finding new opportunities in an existing international market, to making a difference by looking after the supply chain and/or the environment.
LCCI's Director of Membership and Events Liz Henderson commented: “As someone once said, ‘you never become a howling success by just howling’, we know and appreciate that everyone of you finalists here today have put in a huge amount of effort to get to this point, never mind creativity, resilience and sheer hard graft”.
