The MoU was signed at prestigious event at a Park Lane hotel by the President and CEO of the DC Chamber of Commerce, Angela Franco, and London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI)’s Director of Membership and Events, Liz Henderson in the presence of the Washington DC Deputy Mayor for Planning and Economic Development, John Falcicchio.
The benefits of an MoU to provide a direct link between the two capital cities of Washington DC and London to facilitate business to business trade were originally identified earlier this year following initial talks between the two chambers. LCCI members looking to do business on the international stage can now benefit from access to firms in the heart of the United States’ political centre and likewise, Washington DC businesses will benefit from direct connections to London's business community.
Liz Henderson, LCCI Director of Membership said: “We are delighted to have signed an MoU with the D.C. Chamber which will enhance existing cross-Atlantic relationships between businesses and encourage new ones. Formalising the business relationship between our two capital cities will increase international opportunities for our members and will help to amplify Global London’s reputation as the preeminent world city.”
Angela Franco, President and CEO, DC Chamber of Commerce, said, “The goal of this MOU is to pave a way forward for mutual cooperation to achieve economic objectives between the Chambers and to develop and foster business-to-business relationships for our members."
