The Fabric of Freedom fashion show will spotlight the collections of five Ukrainian refugee fashion designers at a groundbreaking fashion show taking place on 30 April at the London Metropolitan University’s Great Hall.
Fabric of Freedom is the result of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI)’s teaming up with London Metropolitan University, UA in UK Community, Creative Headshots London, and fashion show curators and experts Olenka Martynyuk and Nataliia Bartkiv.
Fabric of Freedom is a pioneering showcase aimed at providing support to Ukrainian refugee fashion designers who have sought sanctuary in London. It stands as a beacon of creativity, resilience, and cross-cultural collaboration, serving as a poignant reminder that within the tumult of displacement and uncertainty, lies a profound opportunity for renewal and reinvention.
More than just a fashion show, Fabric of Freedom serves as a platform to bridge the gaps for these talented individuals, offering not only a showcase for their work but also invaluable networking opportunities and avenues for professional growth. This event serves as a testament to LCCI's steadfast commitment to Ukraine, actively championing small and medium businesses to foster bilateral trade and investment, thus contributing to the broader socio-economic fabric of both nations.
The event will feature collections from Ukrainian refugee designers La Musa, Galushko, Mandyradzhy, Selera, and AG Studio. Each collection intricately weaves together elements of their rich cultural heritage with the poignant narratives of their journeys, creating pieces that transcend mere fashion to become powerful symbols of resilience and hope.
The inaugural Fabric of Freedom fashion show will be held in the ornate Great Hall of the London Metropolitan University, providing a fitting backdrop to showcase the remarkable talent and resilience of Ukrainian refugee designers.
James Watkins, Head of Policy and Public Affairs at LCCI, stated:

Olenka Martynyuk, Fashion Curator, Journalist and London Met Lecturer, added:
“It is a privilege to use my 15-year fashion industry expertise to support my compatriot fashion designers continuing their career path after moving to the UK. It’s been a delight to curate a list of designers that will showcase their creations in our show presenting amazing ideas to the London audience.”
