Championing Global London on the US Stage: LCCI in Washington, D.C. and New York
Tuesday 12 May 2026
In May, our CEO Karim Fatehi OBE and Financial Director and Secretary, Neil Stanfield represented LCCI at the SelectUSA 2026 Investment Summit in Washington, D.C., as well as meeting with a number of think tanks and businesses in New York.

Across a packed programme, we met with key partners and state representatives, discussing opportunities to strengthen transatlantic investment and support UK business expansion into the US.
The Summit offered valuable insight into the US investment landscape, while networking sessions reinforced LCCI’s role in connecting London businesses with global opportunities. A highlight included meeting with representatives from the US Department of State and Department of Commerce to discuss practical ways to support businesses navigating an increasingly complex global environment.
In New York, we deepened relationships with the councils and chambers, alongside wider stakeholders. These discussions highlighted the strength and importance of the UK–US economic relationship, particularly in services and investment.
Meetings took place with U.S. Council for International Business (USCIB), where we had a productive discussion on the US–UK business climate, the upcoming digital ATA Carnet launch on June 1, and opportunities to strengthen collaboration between our organisations, as well as with Bloomberg Opinion Editor Nisid Hajari on the current geopolitical landscape, and Christian Stobbs at Markel on the importance of the insurance sector to the City of London and UK SMEs.
Throughout the visit, we championed London as a leading global business hub and shared our members’ priorities around trade, skills, infrastructure and pro-growth policy. We look forward to building on these connections and continuing to support London businesses to grow internationally.
