LCCI Attends Party Conferences 2024

During Party Conference season, we proudly championed the voice of London’s business community, engaging in key discussions and forums about the issues that matter most to our members.

We led discussions with Onward, British Future and New Economics Foundation on topics including London’s role in driving economic growth and prosperity across the UK, how to ensure skills and immigration systems match workforce needs, and the role of devolution in driving new opportunities for London businesses.

Onward Conference

Our CEO Karim Fatehi MBE and Chair Julia Onslow-Cole were pleased to meet with influential politicians and policy makers and were delighted to speak alongside Minister for Energy Consumers Miatta Fahnbulleh, Shadow Secretary of State for Business Kevin Hollinrake MP and Shadow Paymaster General Rt Hon John Glen MP during the conferences.

Politicians

Our Chief Strategy Officer Lucie Risley spoke at our event with British Future at the Conservative Party Conference on the importance of the government and opposition speaking with the business community about changes to immigration and skills policy.

We also spent time connecting with our members including Gatwick Airport, Heathrow Airport and Middlesex University to ensure London speaks with a united voice on the key issues impacting the city.

Over the coming year, we’ll continue making the case for London’s businesses, driving discussions on growth, planning & housing, skills, immigration and regional investment, while working closely with key politicians and stakeholders shaping London’s position as a leading global city. We’re already looking forward to the 2025 Party Conferences!
