Karim Fatehi OBE, LCCI CEO, said:

“At this critical time for London’s business community, we have submitted LCCI’s 2026 Budget submission to HM Treasury.

Our budget submission reflects what we continue to hear from our members: the cost of doing business remains too high, businesses need greater confidence to invest and hire, and London must be able to compete with other leading global cities for investment and talent. Through our flagship Choose LDN. campaign, we are working to make London the best city in the world to do business, driving growth and prosperity across the country while attracting investors and young people to the capital.

We are calling on the Chancellor to make London the most attractive global city in which to do business by reversing the increase in employer National Insurance and delivering business rates reform. This must be matched by action to build for the future, including cutting planning bureaucracy and progressing vital infrastructure such as Crossrail 2.

The Government must also help repair the social contract by supporting young people who are not in education, employment or training into work, improving access to skills and giving first time buyers a better chance of owning a home in London.

Thank you to all our members whose insight and experience have helped shape this submission. We will continue to make the case to Government that backing London’s businesses means backing jobs, investment and prosperity across the whole country.”
