Trade Agreements play a significant role in international trade. Their aim is to make trading easier between the parties to the agreement by reducing restrictions on imports and exports. They take time to negotiate, and each agreement has its own set of rules.

Can/does your business benefit from the UK’s current trade agreements? Do you know where to find the rules and, most importantly, how to interpret and ensure you comply with them? The UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement has really put the spotlight on the complexity of rules of origin, and with the end of the grace period for preparing the underpinning evidence, are you sure you are using preference documents correctly? Would your records withstand scrutiny by HMRC?

In this interactive half-day workshop, we will look at the UK’s current trade agreements and take a practical, step by step look at how to apply the rules and maximise the financial benefits that may exist for your business.

Workshop Programme in Detail:

  • Trade Agreements – principle and practice

  • The global landscape

  • UK Trade Agreements

  • Benefits to business

  • Rules of origin – where to find them and how they work

  • Invoice or EUR1?

  • In-house calculations and/or supplier declarations

  • Common mistakes and compliance considerations

Please note: the training will not be delivered by LCCI. We are working in conjunction with Chamber Customs, who are delivering the training courses through the Accredited Chamber Network.
