Businesses need to be reassured concerns will not be pushed aside during election campaign

Commenting on the announcement by Prime Minister Theresa May that she is to seek a General Election on June 8th Chief Executive of London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Colin Stanbridge said: "In the coming weeks, businesses will want to be reassured that their concerns will be addressed as politicians juggle the demands of an election campaign, exiting the EU and the domestic agenda.

"The past year has been an uncertain time for London businesses and yet they have proved remarkably resilient.

"Now they need to know that practical ways to tackle challenges on housing, skills will be at forefront of party leaders' minds.

"We look forward to assessing the main party manifestoes shortly."
