London Chamber of Commerce and Industry is delighted to be working in partnership with the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce to organise a Business Visit to Hamburg. The visit offers our delegates an excellent opportunity to expand their business connections and foster future business relationships in Germany.
The visit will include:
- a business briefing on Hamburg
- a site visit to DESY; an impressive and important centre for research, innovation and technology transfer
- an afternoon Business Forum entitled: Teaming up for Business Competitiveness in a Changing World
- a high-level networking Reception with Hamburg Chamber members

Hamburg’s Business and Economic Profile
Hamburg boasts one of the highest GDP per capita figures in Germany and Europe, driven by its strong service sector and major port. As of 2023, the city-state recorded a GDP per capita of approximately €79,176. It consistently ranks as the wealthiest German state, with a GDP per capita well above the national average.
European Ranking: Hamburg is among the top 10 most economically powerful regions in the European Union, with a per-capita GDP nearly 95% above the EU average.

Hamburg and London, share a long history of trade, innovation, and openness. As two of Europe’s most internationally connected cities, both are uniquely positioned to shape a more competitive, resilient, and forward-looking European economy.
The conference provides a platform to deepen this partnership, combined with senior business leaders, with a focus on:
- Innovation for growth – leveraging AI and emerging technologies
- Sustainable transformation – accelerating decarbonisation and resilience

- Economic resilience – navigating global uncertainty through partnership
Together, these discussions will help define a more dynamic, future-ready partnership between two of Europe’s most influential business centres.
Delegates are responsible for booking and paying for their own travel and accommodation to suit their requirements, as well as any subsistence expenses.
Once LCCI has confirmed your participation and that the visit is proceeding, a commitment fee of £240 (£200+VAT) per company is required which will be fully refundable after the visit. If your application to participate is declined, no payment will be taken from your card.
